The top two New Zealand qualifiers will represent Aotearoa New Zealand at the World Finals in London, competing at legendary courses and attending a Gala at Windsor Castle.

The Tournament
The Duke of Edinburgh Cup World Finals are contested over two championship days at two of England's most prestigious golf clubs:
- Round One: Wentworth Golf Club — One of Europe's premier golfing venues, followed by lunch
- Round Two: Windlesham Golf Club — An exquisite private members' course, followed by lunch
- Friendly Match: Royal Household Golf Club — An exclusive team event inside the grounds of Windsor Castle
The Grand Finale
The World Finals culminate with the Gala Prize Giving Dinner at Windsor Castle. This black-tie evening is attended by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and Golfing Ambassador Justin Rose MBE (subject to schedule), who present prizes.
Please note: an invitation to Windsor Castle does not guarantee entry. All guests must be able to pass the Royal security screening before they are admitted to the Castle.
Partner/Guest Information
A partner or guest is welcome to accompany the qualifiers and may share the hotel room. Please note that functions, golf, meals, and other expenses will be at the partner's/guest's own cost.
The 2026 World Finals Experience
The Duke of Edinburgh Cup World Finals is a remarkable experience. A highlight of the trip is the black-tie gala dinner at Windsor Castle, hosted by HRH Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh.
The golf venues are impressive too: Wentworth’s Edinburgh Course, which some members say is longer and demands greater accuracy than the West Course used for the BMW PGA Championship; Windlesham at Bagshot Park; and the nine-hole Royal Household Golf Club, which has 18 tees and is located in the grounds of Windsor Castle. The club is reserved for members of the Royal Household and staff who hold membership. The top three finalists also played Wentworth’s West Course.
The nearby Windsor Castle Hotel provided a convenient base for the visit. From there, we could have breakfast before golf, explore Windsor and its castle, watch the Changing of the Guard, and socialise with other players and guests in the bar—sometimes well into the night.
Meeting golfers from around the world reassures us that we are not alone in our experiences or our shared passion for golf. It is also fascinating to learn about their lives, interests and golfing journeys, and to build lasting connections.
Putting my own golfing performance aside—for good reason—I enjoyed playing with the welcoming club members who hosted each group. My playing partners included an elderly gentleman who was fortunate to be alive, a former trainee professional and a former junior Ryder Cup player.
Playing in the DoE Cup is both enjoyable and rewarding: it combines playing a great course, fellowship over dinner and drinks, and an exceptional prize—an experience that is difficult to put a price on. Best of all, it supports a good cause by raising funds for youth development, particularly New Zealand’s Young Enterprise Scheme.
